I can see from her profile and some of the posts that she is genuinely interested in moths so my expectation is that it would not be the usual media “moths eating clothes” garbage.
The point is I am unable to accept the invitation because a) I am caring for Mum and b) I am shy and retiring. Is there anyone from the SMG who would like to step in for me and speak for our Suffolk moths?
Thanks, Paul

“I have recently taken over from Heather Young as the East of England GMS coordinator. I will be contacting all current participants in the area in due course regarding record submission, but in the meantime I’m very happy to pass on any suggestions they may have for improving the scheme. I’m especially keen to ensure that, at least, all regularly caught macros are included.

If anyone is considered joining the scheme, please contact me for more information. My e-mail address is grahamgeen@btinternet.com.

Very best wishes,

Graham.”

Getting frustrated with entering NMN records. http://suffolkmoths.org.uk/blog/index.php/2013/10/22/getting-frustrated-with-entering-nmn-records/ http://suffolkmoths.org.uk/blog/index.php/2013/10/22/getting-frustrated-with-entering-nmn-records/#comments Tue, 22 Oct 2013 15:59:17 +0000 Neil http://suffolkmoths.org.uk/blog/?p=3957 Continue reading ]]> I’m getting very frustrated with trying to enter my records onto the National Moth Night website and was wondering if anyone else has had problems. I’ve tried entering data twice now. First time a few weeks ago I made an error in typing in a record, tried to delete it then the screen ‘froze’ and I couldn’t add anything else and in the end lost all the data I had entered. I’ve just spent 20 minutes typing in the same list again (over 100sp) and clicked on the submit button at the end like is says to do, but then when I went back to check the records I’d entered to see if they had gone through it states in my account I have ‘no records’! Arghhh!
I’m pretty annoyed at having to enter my records on the site as I’ve already entered them into my Mapmate, surely there must be a way for me to extract them from there and send them in?
I’ll have another go when I’m not so fed up with it and if that fails then I won’t be sending in any data for NM night. Hate to think what it will be like for others who have larger lists than me.

Neil

I am putting together a short article for the Entomologist’s Record detailing the occurrences of this moth in Eye over the past ten years which strongly suggest a local resident population. Last year I recorded my highest numbers ever and it would be useful to know if any other recorders had any in 2010. Tony Prichard has kindly let me have all the records for the preceding years.
Thank you in advance, Paul
