There is a good-sized stand of Poplar trees a few hundred yards away, between Iken Cliff and The Maltings, so perhaps?

There has been a record at Minsmere this year as well, plus another around Brantham I believe. With the 2 seen in the area of the Hen reedbed reserve last year it certainly looks as if it is established locally in Suffolk. It feeds on Poplar trees as well as Aspen so could be using that in the Iken area as Poplars are common in Suffolk whereas Aspen is a bit more local. Hopefully we all won’t have to wait too long before it becomes as common as it has in other parts of the UK – don’t think I’d ever tire of seeing them!
