<![CDATA[ Tony and myself tried the good patch of Butterbur at the Newbourne Springs SWT reserve last night without success, using an actinic trap in amongst the foodplant as well as searching by torchlight. The 125w mv trap I also brought along had to be switched off at the start as the outer case of the bulb blew up!
Wine ropes also deployed but not many moths came in to those but nice to see 1 Old lady on them, with another netted in flight just after dusk. Best moth seen probably Epermenia falciformis. ]]>
